Incase you haven’t heard, this past week, Lucasfilm and Dark Horse announced that they would be teaming up and creating a brand new 4-part comic book series titles “Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir”. Read the full article here! A lot of people got very excited (like myself), but also, a slew of rumors happened immediately, as does all things related to the Star Wars Universe. People thought this was the would-be finale to The Clone Wars.

Yes, I actually wouldn’t mind all that much if we got a resolution to The Clone Wars via comics. But this is not the case. Dave Filoni announced  that will not be the finale of The Clone Wars. Here’s some highlights from his statement:

Before we get into the details about the Maul comic, I’d like to make clear that this storyline does not represent The Clone Wars series finale. I’ve seen some confusion about that online and want to set the record straight. There are additional Clone Wars episodes on the way and one arc in particular marks the series finale in my mind. We’ll have fun discussing that in the not too distant future.

Is it the final story for Darth Maul? You will have to read the comics to find out. – source

See. There is nothing to worry about. Yes, The Clone Wars will probably and eventually have it’s last bow, but for now we have some new episodes on the way and a mysterious new “arc”. So for now, let’s now freak out about every little Star Wars rumor we hear because most likely, it’s not true, if it didn’t come from Star Wars themselves. Let’s just continue to love Star Wars in everything that comes our way.
