What is You’re Next about?

When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped… until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.

The review:

I just got back from a 10:00PM showing of You’re Next and if you follow me on Twitter than you know how this review is going to go.

I expected a slasher horror film with comedy lightly layered throughout going in, but coming out, I was BLOWN AWAY! You’re Next isn’t your average horror film. It takes the idea of masked strangers killing innocent people and changes it into a way that is so much better. The movie starts off with action, slows down with suspense for a few minutes and then the action doesn’t stop. The story line takes twists and turns that I didn’t even expect. It was also refreshing to see a lead survivor in a horror film know what to do and actually take charge. It was nice to see Erin, the films female main lead, actually use her brain and defend herself. And the score?! The score was SO AMAZING! It was so different, but still kept the creepy tone to the movie. I loved it. The Animals were also creepy and I LOVED their masks! The ending was also nice. I won’t spoil it, but it was a really good way to end the movie. 🙂

It took 2 years for this movie to finally come to the big screens and I’m glad it did! I loved every minute of it! If you have the chance, I would highly recommend! You can get tickets on Fandango! I give this movie 10/10 stars!

Have you seen You’re Next yet?! If so, let me know what you thought! 🙂
